Some trainer mates were after some durable and affordable long lines for their clients and for their own training needs. 8 mm Horse rope that is easy on the hands, cleans up well after being used in muddy areas and coils nicely for storage. Double welded for extra strength and marine grade stainless steel clips used.
These are not chew proof and you should NEVER leave a dog tied unsupervised on a long line in case of injury if the dog tangles or decides to run.

The standard 1.8m is a great place to teach new skills and the 3m lines are perfect for getting those skills to be more reliable.
The next phase of training requires working the "D"s...Distance, duration, distraction, drive and discrimination (see article page).
These criteria benefit from a longer line that allows for the distance criteria but also allows you to have a drag line in case the environment side swipes you.
If the unwanted behaviour can be stopped or blocked in it's tracks then you can then get the dog back into the goal behaviour without the dog learning that it can make poor choices and be self rewarded by them.
